Its been sometime since my last post.  Vacations and some other necessary diversions have occupied an inordinate amount of my time.  But all is well and I have finally upgraded this website to Semiologic Pro 5.0 with the included tweaked version of WordPress 2.3.1. (…)

  • The Woes of WordPress 2.3

WordPress 2.3 has been out seventeen days now and I still haven’t upgraded this or any of my other websites.  WordPress 2.3 broke a lot of the plugins that are used in the Semiologic Pro theme.
I use Semiologic Pro exclusively and am waiting for either the plugins themselves to be revised, or for WordPress to be tweaked to allow some of the features that are exclusive to Semiologic Pro. (…)

  • Importance of Page Position in Google Search

I was reading a post on another blog where the author was bragging that she had achieved a page one listing when one of her key words was used to initiate the search.  Checking out her claim, her site was listed at number 5 in a field of 12500 pages containing her search term. (…)

  • Internet Marketers - A Clarification

My post of a few days ago  where I was critical of Internet Marketers has invoked some criticism, and upon review from the prospective of a reader, deserves some clarification.  My comment should have been more specifically leveled to those people who create splogs, using other bloggers material for the sole purpose of monitizing using Adsense or YPN.  While there are certainly other actions which I do not approve, the splogger was my main target
I consider myself an Internet marketer, and like the majority of Internet marketeers, do not use scraped material for my posts.  So the previously posted article does not apply to them, or to me.  I am sorry for any misunderstanding and welcome your comments. (…)

  • Working with Internet Marketers

Kickass Web Design has a post about working for Internet Marketers where they state:

These are the people who think they’re going to get rich off the Internet by creating sites full of affiliate links, reprinted articles written by others (who also call themselves “internet marketers”) and huge blocks of Adsense ads cunningly designed so that it’s almost impossible to distinguish the ads from “real” links. • Today I Finally Did It

After months of being continually reminded that a download was ready, I finally allowed Adobe to update Reader 8.  I hate Adobe Reader.  I hate the splash screen  I hate the delay in getting to a screen where I can actually use the program.  And I hate the reboot that is required after every update. (…)

  • Is Cha Cha Search a Serious Search Contender

After a national promotion of their Search engine which relied upon the interaction of live search guides which included spots on Good Morning America, it now appears that the interest and the promotion has all but disappeared.
The website and the search engine now emphasize searchs using the search box, with only a small notice that a live guide is available to assist. (…)
