Google recently introduced the ability of anyone to create a highly specialized Custom Search Engine that reflects your own knowledge and interests. Tou can place it on your website and, using Google’s AdSense for Search program, make money from the resulting traffic. I tried it out for a search engine for math and science to use as a ChaCha Guide (another story).
