WordPress 2.0.1

WordPress 2.0.1 was released 18 days ago, and so far I haven’t seen a rush to upgrade. I, myself am waiting for the one click upgrade to become available on my server by way of Fantastico. I like the almost instant nature of the upgrade, but also have learned that a manual upgrade precludes any future upgrades using Fantastico.

It seems that the reasons for going from WordPress 2.0 to 2.1.1 are more compelling than they were in going from 1.x.x to 2.0. Indeed there were criticisms that WordPress had rushed to release 2.0, and many pundits thought that it should have been delayed to perhaps eliminate some of the 114 bugs that were left for correction in the 2.0.1 release.

I have several websites running on WordPress 2.0 and have not had any issues I would deem critical. Reported problems with trackback haven’t bothered me because my traffic is still low. Hopefully that will change and I can appreciate the fixes that are sure to come. My upgrade to 2.0.1 will be out of convenience, not need. That could change.

I run a blog, and I had problems with permalinks (it said that the page doesen’t exist) on WP2.0, after upgrading (manual) it works fine.
